This is an BMW advertisement for BMW S1000 RR, but could the motorcycle successfully perform the famous table cloth trick? How about with an XXXL table? From zero to 100km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds, the bike was a very hungry machine.

Posted By Ben Goulding, 9 March, 2010 | permalink
How long can you hold your breath? Well, the average person can hold their breath for around 1 minute, however there is one man who defies human lung capacity, and that is David Merlini.
David Merlini, 31, is an escape artist from Budapest who has broken several World Records for holding his breath while underwater. For his latest World Record, Merlini held his breath for 21 minutes and 29 seconds underwater at the starting line of the Sakhir Circuit at the 2009 Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix.
So how can you hold your breath for longer? Well it all comes down to health and practice. A slower heart rate consumes less oxygen, a healthy body uses oxygen more efficiently and practice can increase your lung capacity. All of these combined can help increase how long you can hold your breath for, just in case you ever needed to do such a thing. I’m feeling breathless just writing about this.

This is my favorite card trick of all time. Don’t worry if you’ve already seen it, because it will probably blow your mind even watching it a second time. It’s called “Jumping Gemini” and in this video it’s performed by the incredible Roy Raphaeli. Enjoy.

This is a neat illusion I stumbled upon, in which Einstein’s face follows you wherever you move. Don’t they have one of those with the Wicked Witch’s face in Disney Land? I have no idea how it works, but it’s pretty freaky.

“Todays magic is tomorrow’s science”, and Harry Potter just turned science with this amazing Fly Stick Van de Graaff Levitation Wand.
The battery powered wand features a mini Van de Graaff generator inside. Push a button on the handle and the static charge built up in the wand causes the included 3D mylar shapes to levitate at your command. You can also do some cool tricks causing the shapes to jump back and forth from your hand to the wand.
The wands are available at ThinkGeek.

Previously, I told you that Derren Brown would aim to predict the lottery numbers on 09/09/09, and guess what, he did it! Derren correctly predicted the winning lottery balls 2, 11, 23, 28, 35 and 39.
He will reveal how he did it tonight at 9pm on Channel 4 (UK). In the meantime though, does anyone have any theories? I’m totally dumbfounded at the moment.

English magician and illusionist Derren Brown will aim to predict the results of the UK national lottery draw tomorrow night (09/09/09), live on television before the draw is made.

Now, I’ve seen some of the stuff Derren has done, and it’s quite spectacular, but this is just crazy. How can he possibly predict the lottery numbers? There’s a one in 14 million chance of choosing the money balls!
I personally can’t wait to see this. It will either be a huge success, or he’ll look like a complete fool on television and his career will probably be ruined. Live on Channel 4 (UK), tomorrow night at 10.35pm, make sure you catch it.
