There’s nothing sweeter to a golfer than a hole-in-one. However, the chances of that happening are about one-in-30,000. So it seemed like a pretty safe bet to hold a contest: Get a hole-in-one, win $1 million!

However, luck was on Jason Hargett’s side this week at a golf charity tournament in Utah. He initially said he didn’t plan to play, but then changed his mind — a decision that would change his life.

An 8-year-old Cincinnati Zoo cheetah has set a world speed record for land mammals by running the 100 meters in 6.13 seconds.

Sarah, the cheetah, set the record on her second attempt at the zoo’s Regional Cheetah Breeding Facility in Clermont County. In her first try she ran 100 meters in 6.16 seconds, which still beat the previous record of 6.19 seconds.

Sarah the cheetah makes Usain Bolt’s 9.58 second world track record look like a walk in the park.

It looks like Serena and her sponsor, Nike, didn’t bother with the spellcheck on this one.

Vicious, yes. Ambitious, yes! “Delicous”, what?!

I’ve never seen anything like this before. I wonder how you train for something like this, and how many times they’ve been in A&E. A stunning performance. Hard enough to do this stuff on your exercise bike. Would like to see more of this around!

“The little fellow in the video here is called Evoia and is powered by two Panasonic EVOLTA AA alkaline batteries. We like to think of him as a modern version of the Energizer bunny. And his claim to fame is that he entered the Guinness Book of World Records as “the longest distance covered by a battery-operated remote-controlled model car.” That’s right, the little guy kept pedaling non-stop, following an infrared beam from a lead car for 5.6 laps – 23.726 km or 14.82 miles – around the 4.2 km Le Mans race circuit for 24 hours.”

Youtube To Sponsor Formula 1 Racing Team

Youtube Sponsors F1

Video sharing website, Youtube, is set to sponsor the new U.S. Formula 1 team USGPE (formerly US F1), which will join F1 in 2010.

YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley has had meetings with the USGPE team and Youtube is likely to sponsor the car.

Although there has been speculation about this for a while now, it appears that everything has been finalized now and Youtube will be a major sponsor in Formula 1 next season.

When it happens, it will be the first time that an internet-based company will be represented on the F1 track.

Most Amazing Hole In One Ever!

This has got to be one of the best hole in ones that I have ever seen. Leif Olson hit the 132-yard 15th hole at the 2009 Canadian Open. The ball bounced off playing partner Kris Blanks ball and rolled into the hole, winning Olson a $51k 2009 BMW Z4 Roadster.

When A Ferrari Met A Citroen 2CV

Posted By Ben Goulding, 22 July, 2009 | permalink

Ever wondered what you’d get if you crossed a Ferrari with a Citroen 2CV? No, me neither. Well one pair decided to give it a try.

Nicolo Lamberti, 35, and Milko Dalla Costa, 51, who run the Italian Nimik rally team spent 5 years and $250,000 to make the odd couple come together.

They took the chassis and engine on a Ferrari F355 Berlinetta which they had found at an “interesting price” and combined it with the body of a 12bhp Citroen 2CV Fourgonnette bread-van which they found abandoned in the back of a garage. The result of the project is a bizarre looking vehicle which can go from 0 to 60mph in under 5 seconds and has a top speed of 180mph.

A crazy idea and a crazy hybrid. Well done chaps.

Riding A Roller Coaster On Skates

Posted By Ben Goulding, 21 July, 2009 | permalink

For most people, riding a roller coaster strapped into a seat is excitement enough, but not for Dirk Auer. Dirk decided he wanted to ride the Mammoth roller coaster at a Stuttgart theme park on in-line skates.

The 860 meter wooden coaster enabled Auer to reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour and experience up to 3Gs of force. The speed-junkie set a new world record for in-line skating down a roller coaster and said afterwards that the stunt was “a lot of fun.”

I think i’ll stick to the teacups thanks Dirk.

Take a look at this video which collaborates the fastest times in many different sports and activities including cup stacking, shooting, sprinting, clapping, stamping, rubik’s cube solving and more.

The cup stacker is amazing, so is the stamper. The fastest undresser made me laugh though. I mean, how do you realize you have that talent in the first place?
