The Spider-Man Lizard Craze

Posted By Ben Goulding, 21 September, 2009 | permalink

The resemblance of the Mwanza flat-headed rock agama lizard to Spider-Man is uncanny and as a result, it’s become one of the most sought-after pets on the planet by comic book fans and geeks alike.

Agamas, which are native to Kenya, can change color, climb vertical walls and grow up to a foot long, with their diet consisting of locusts, crickets, mealworms and waxworms.

Wouldn’t it be cool if lizards could transform their colors to match other comic book characters. Now spiderman is cool, but I’d like to see a Batman, Superman and even an incredible hulk army of superhero lizards. You can but dream.

I’m sure this masked criminal wasn’t expecting what he came up against when he decided to rob one bank in Wisconsin. Watch extra close to see the lady kicking him whilst he’s down.

And that’s how they do it in the badger state, ladies and gentlemen. Nice work!

Making hats or giraffes out of balloons may seem complex enough for most, but not for artist, Jason Hackenwerth – he’s created some stunning, highly detailed sculptures, purely from party balloons.

Some of his designs are so big and ambitious that the 39-year-old has to “wrestle” the balloons into place – his largest sculpture was over 40ft long.

Mr Hackenwerth, from New York, gets through so many balloons that he has to buy them in bulk, ordering 5,000 at a time.

Take a look at the gallery on Jason’s website for more mind-blowing balloon art.
