It was on this day in 2001 that internet explorer 6 was released to the world, and who knew the pain and suffering it would cause all web-masters and designers out there?

Despite numerous online campaigns for individuals, but especially companies to upgrade from ie6, including Mashable’s ie6 must die plea, that went viral on Twitter, the ‘ancient’ web browser still holds around a 15% share of the browser market.

You’ve had your fair share of browsing time now ie6, it’s time for you to curl up in your tartan blanket and let the compatible browsers out there show us the web.
