Dumb Criminals Set Up Fake ATM At Hacker Meet

A group of criminals made a big mistake when they decided to set up a fake ATM at the Defcon hacker conference in Las Vegas.
Attendees at the conference, in the Riviera Hotel, which plays host to the annual event, noticed the ATM and could straight away sense something fishy.
“They looked at the screen where there would normally be a camera,” an organizer at the conference said. “It was a little bit too dark, so someone shined a flashlight in there and there was a PC.”
Organizers notified local law enforcement who removed the machine from the building.
Maybe next time they’ll think twice before setting up fake ATMs in hotels flooded with 8,000 security professionals. Unlucky!
