Alice In Wonderland Trailer

Posted By Ben Goulding, 27 July, 2009 | permalink

Here’s the trailer to the Alice in Wonderland movie, directed by Tim Burton, that is scheduled to be released on March 5th, 2010. I may be biased, being a Depp fan, but it looks like it’s going to be the movie of the year. Shame about the wait though.

Bill Gates Too Popular For Facebook

Posted By Ben Goulding, 27 July, 2009 | permalink

Bill Gates FacebookBill Gates has stopped using Facebook after he confessed that managing his profile had become “way too much trouble”.

At an event in New Delhi, where Bill was receiving an award for his charity work, Gates said he couldn’t keep up with friend requests. “I had 10,000 people wanting to be my friend,” he told the audience. “I am not a 24-hour-a-day tech person” he said.

Despite Gates deleting his personal Facebook profile, he has a Facebook fan group dedicated to him with 17,000 followers and a support page for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with 34,000 fans.

Bill also warned that despite the benefits of technology, some could waste people’s time if they weren’t careful…the words ‘Windows Minesweeper’ spring to mind.

The Freedom Pig Becomes A Hero

Posted By Ben Goulding, 27 July, 2009 | permalink

A 150lb pig who has evaded capture for five months since appearing in a park in the Cove neighborhood of Panama City, Florida is being hailed as a hero.

The animal has survived being shot with tranquiliser darts and a taser stun gun since it’s been on the run.

A Facebook group called “the Pig of the Cove” has been set up to celebrate the pig, so far boasting 429 members across the US. Many believe that the pig is a symbol of our desire to live free lives, free of government control.

Animal control officials insist that they are not trying to kill the animal but only want to catch it before it hurts itself or someone else. The humane society said the pig will not be put down.

Should the pig be stopped or should officials let it carry on it’s mission as an inspiration to many. Your thoughts.

Huge Price Tag For Moon Rock Book

Posted By Ben Goulding, 27 July, 2009 | permalink

MoonFireA book released on the 40th anniversary of the Moon landing is to go on sale for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Only 12 copies of the special edition of MoonFire will come with a piece of Moon rock because of it’s scarcity.

The book is based on the accounts of Norman Mailer, the author and space enthusiast who died in 2007, with glossy photos of the landing, archives on Nasa and LIFE magazine and each copy signed by Buzz Aldrin.

1969 copies of the book are being produced in total – to represent the year of landing – with most available to buy online for around $1,000, but only 12 of them will come with pieces of Moon rock that crashed to Earth as meteorites.

Check out the Taschen website for more details.

Road Sign Misspells Three Out Of Four Words

Posted By Ben Goulding, 27 July, 2009 | permalink

A sign pointing southbound drivers onto Business Highway 51 misspelled the villages of Rothschild and Schofield in central Wisconsin. Not only that, but the painter had also misspelled the name of the road, Business Highway 51 as Buisness Highway 51.

Misspelled Road Sign

As a matter of fact, the only word that was spelt correctly was “exit”, which is coincidentally the place that I would be sending those incompetent workers.

By Sunday morning the sign had been replaced with all of the words spelt correctly. Here’s the new version.
