Is anyone able to fully comprehend what $1 trillion really is? Mint.com have put together a nice video to help.
No longer is government spending talked about in terms of a mere ten digits. With the recent flurry of government spending, we are going to need another three zeros to make sense of it all. One trillion dollars is a number that few people can comprehend, let alone your standard nine digit calculator. So what does one trillion dollars look like?

Ancient Maps – The Island Of California
Posted By Ben Goulding, 22 July, 2009 | permalink
Here is one of a collection of fascinating ancient maps. The maps cover much more than just geography. They tell stories of war, triumphs, myths and so much more.
This a map created by Joan Vinckeboons, in around 1650 showing the island of California!
Believe it or not, explorers believed California was an island for a very long time and this map depicts that assumption. It would take over 50 years after the creation of this map before it was confirmed that California is indeed attached to the mainland of America.

Ever wondered what you’d get if you crossed a Ferrari with a Citroen 2CV? No, me neither. Well one pair decided to give it a try.

Ferrari/Citroen Hybrid. Image: SOLENT
Nicolo Lamberti, 35, and Milko Dalla Costa, 51, who run the Italian Nimik rally team spent 5 years and $250,000 to make the odd couple come together.
They took the chassis and engine on a Ferrari F355 Berlinetta which they had found at an “interesting price” and combined it with the body of a 12bhp Citroen 2CV Fourgonnette bread-van which they found abandoned in the back of a garage. The result of the project is a bizarre looking vehicle which can go from 0 to 60mph in under 5 seconds and has a top speed of 180mph.
A crazy idea and a crazy hybrid. Well done chaps.
