Wataru Ito, 25, a talented origami artist, spent four years creating this stunning model city made completely out of paper, however he now plans to burn it down!

He began this origami project when he became bored during his exams, using only a knife and glue. The piece is now being displayed at an exhibition on the island of Umihotaru, near Tokyo, Japan. However, Wataru will set his work on fire once the show is finished. The reason for this being that he says that he quickly loses interest in his projects when he completes them.

Is this really the best thing that could be done with this fabulous piece of art? Donate it, or even sell it and give the money to charity would surely make better use of the model…But I suppose it’s Wataru’s decision at the end of the day.
